Creative Learning Management System is the name given to our LMS which wraps a professional networking solution around a course delivery mechanism. This radical new tool, which embeds Moodle, is deployed across the first tranche of local authorities in the East of England. Early reports are favourable, with users able to communicate with each other and reflect on their learning in ways not possible before.

The Tranche 1 authorities went live at the end of October, and the second tranche are to go live very soon.

A number of key challenges have been overcome in deploying this software - specifically, Moodle 2.1 is the course ware element and it is difficult to get this to work with IE6 web browsers. Difficult, but not impossible as our system demonstrates.

Additionally, migrating courses and users from Moodle 1.9 to Moodle 2.1 is a tricky operation. Tricky, but not impossible! We have successfully migrated hundreds of courses and thousands of users with no data loss at all from different flavours of Moodle 1.9 into CLMS which uses Moodle 2.1.
